For a few months now, I found a studio space where I can get away from the distractions at home and be productive. It’s a collective space shared with many other local artisans including Jordan Lajoie who hand-makes premium leather goods for his brand Lajoie.
You can choose from many different colours and types of leather of his already cut out design. The soft, premium leather used comes from one of the renowned tanneries: Horween Leather. Other options for customizing your Mini Pocket include adding your own monograms debossed or with a foil heat transfer, waxed linen thread, and edge paint. All of these high quality materials are some the best you can find on the market.
I settled on a two-tone design: green and navy.
All-in-all, this is a workshop I would be happy to recommend to anyone visiting Montreal or living in this city looking to learn about leatherwork without breaking the bank. What I find the most valuable in all of this was the knowledge shared from his years of experience and the great chats. Going home with a personalized Mini Pocket was a bonus.
Big thanks to Jordan Lajoie!
